This excellent collection of work comes from 826 Valencia’s Tenderloin Center partners. Students from the Boys and Girls Club Tenderloin Clubhouse, Cross Cultural Family Center of San Francisco, De Marillac Academy, Tenderloin Community School, Bessie Carmichael Elementary School, and Glide Family, Youth, and Childcare Center visited our center after school to produce a wide range of works. Their writing varies from poems wondering “What are the leaves chattering about / when I walk past them?” to stories of life lessons and how different you feel two days from graduating rather than when you just flooded the school gym.
