How To Manage a Board President/Executive Director Relationship

Given the issues that we ran into with administrative, the board started working closely with the ED for transparency and to ensure all of the necessary tasks were getting done. Now, this check-in takes the form of a weekly phone call. I think it has been helpful for ABC to have this kind of communication between the board and the ED. Also, the board should not be shy about reaching out the ED on their own. That what it means to be a “working” board. We are all working to make the organization thrive together.
