Fundraiser for 826 Valencia’s New Mission Bay Location

Tonight (October 3rd) there’s a fundraiser for 826 Valencia’s new location in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco. This is a new building, where affordable housing will be located above, and the developers have given 826 the first floor retail area. There is really nothing better than a rent-free space where we know the students and families will be so close. Check out these concept drawings by Jonas Kellner and the WRNS Studio. The idea is that the students will work in a kind of enchanted forest, populated by gnomes (we assume) and giant mushrooms and oversized, though benevolent (we hope) insects. This space will be open in a few months. The families are already moving in above. All hail 826 Valencia leader Bita Nazarian, and her indefatiguable staff, for making this happen.
