The Austin Bat Cave (ABC) believes that when students own their voice and tell their stories, they become stronger, more confident writers. Young people yearn to share, express, reflect, and understand one another.

By implementing engaging curriculum and working with students one-on-one, ABC’s volunteers inspire young writers with passion for reading, writing, and learning.

Austin Bat Cave’s 10th anthology of student writing — Welcome to My Planet — is a testament to the students who honor ABC with their voices and their stories. This anthology contains writing from ABC’s summer camps including Magical Realism, Post-Apocalyptic Fiction, and Performance Storytelling as well as selections from our after-school writing workshops with Lanier High School, Anderson High, Austin Achieve, and more!
